Tobio Kageyama was oblivious to love.

Sure, he loved volleyball— very much so. But whenever you tried to show your feelings to him, he failed to get the message everytime.

Overtime, Tobio found himself growing more attached to you. Your friendship was one of the only ones that really mattered to him. Meant something to him. He was clingy, which was rare for him. Unexplained hugs and his arm wrapping around your shoulders as you talked with someone else— other boys you were friends with. He found himself wanting to know you. Every part of who you were. He didn’t know why— but he liked the feeling.

You sat with him and his team as they took a break from training, Tobio taking his usual spot beside you on the floor as they all sat in a circle.

Tobio had eased up lately— maybe it was because of you.

Nishinoya and Hinata cracked jokes, the two of them slightly bickering and laughing. They both suddenly rolled onto the ground, beginning to tackle each other playfully.

Tobio laughed, a groan leaving him at their childish antics. He dragged his hands over his face, his head falling against your shoulder as he chuckled.

“I seriously can’t do this. They’re so dumb—“
