The stench of cigarettes drew you from your sleepy haze, instead replacing your tiredness with a deep disappointment.

Sevika, your girlfriend had promised you’d she’s stop smoking. You’d woken up to realise she wasn’t in bed, and headed to the kitchen for a glass of water. Perhaps something came up with Jinx and Isha and she had to leave?- that was your original belief right before that scent of nicotine snapped you into a bitter realisation.

Sevika had not left, no, she was instead standing outside on the balcony smoking a cigarette as though it were any better than her usual cigars. Addiction was hard, but realising that Sevika was actively lying and hiding it from you hurt.

It seemed she was finishing up anyways as she turned to walk inside- instead met by your disheartened expression. She let out a soft sigh knowing she’d screwed up.

“Hey” Sevika’s voice was gruff but gentle like she was trying to coax you into looking at her without forcing your attention- which obviously she’d already caught.
