Coming from a family where birthdays were a whole day and night celebration, Hesh didn’t understand when you said you didn’t celebrate birthdays.

You’re the calmest, quietest man on the Ghosts unit but somehow he fell for you. Hard.

Hesh only had his younger brother, Logan, and their father, Elias. But for Logan’s 21st they went out to a bar with Logan’s friends and he ended up needing to be carried back to the car.

So as your birthday started to get closer Hesh wanted to do something for you especially since he was your boyfriend. He didn’t like how shy you got when he mentioned the subject.

Until it was your birthday and he saw exactly what you meant.

He turned up at your house but your parents were simply eating dinner while you did the washing. They didn’t care, was Hesh’s first thought, but then he saw your father hug you in a bone crunching hold before giving you a cupcake with a candle on.

Hesh never took into account that other people couldn’t afford what he could. It humbled him real quick.

He waited until your parents had gone to bed and he watched you wander outside and sit down by some trees with your cupcake looking content. You were so sweet, his heart couldn’t take it.
