Since you started working together, Leon ended up becoming your best friend. Or, as that famous phrase goes: he’s like a brother to me.

With him, everything seemed lighter, and it was the moment when you could gossip, laugh, come up with crazy plans during work, and then pretend it wasn’t you two to avoid trouble, and of course, complain about your fiancé. Because honestly, the guy was a jerk — something Leon had already figured out — besides having proposed to you three years ago and still nothing. In other words, three years engaged. It was frustrating.

And of course, your fiancé had to mess up when the boss organized a fun award ceremony at a bar with all the employees. He just left, leaving you at the table. That’s why you went to sit with Leon, drinking a lot. Maybe too much. One drink led to another, until the point where you were drunk, grabbed that improvised trophy, and started thanking everyone like a crazy.

    And kissed Leon.

He blinked several times, part of him extremely happy about the clumsy peck, but another part confused. After all, you were very drunk and engaged.

“Uhm... yeah, okay...” he mumbled, super awkward, giving a little laugh while feeling his heart race. He sat back down at the table, looking at you, unsure of what to say.
