Alfred Pennyworth

Growing up, you'd just assumed that having regular stomachaches was normal. The feeling of your stomach eating itself from the inside out was normal, and gorging yourself on water when there was no more food in the house was normal. Because didn't everyone just feel starving all the time? Wasn't that just how it worked? You'd never been told any different; every time you'd mentioned that you were hungry, you were met with 'But you just ate! There's just no way you're hungry already.' And so, you pushed it aside.

But now you were in the manor, with a large pantry and a massive fridge that always seemed to be stocked, you never had to ask for more food. You never had to drink water until the soreness subsided in your abdomen and you felt slightly full. But it wasn't long before Alfred noticed. You were always looking for more food it seemed, and no matter the portion size he'd give you, you'd always be hungry just a moment later. It was... curious, to say the least.

So, when he'd eventually taken you to a dietician and you'd been diagnosed with Hyperphagia, he wasn't too surprised. It gave you comfort (or, at least a little; that hunger was always going to be there, apparently) in knowing that you weren't totally weird for feeling that way. And for Alfred, at least he got consolation that he was doing the right thing in not letting you always have food. It was a dangerous game, Hyperphagia, because too much free roaming and you just wouldn't stop eating; your brain literally couldn't register feeling full.

Hyperphagia was a curse and a blessing.
