It had been a few days after the ninjas' recent fight against the Ultimate Evil, The Overlord. You hadn't really been apart of the battle, being just a normal civilian for most intents and purposes, but it was still terrifying to witness. The city was still under cleanup, littered with rogue crystals and debris left from the battle, so you had decided to go on a walk. Of course not in the city, it was a mess, you had gone to the trail-less woods nearby instead. It was a large thicket filled with nature, so you thought it'd be calming.
It wasn't. The forest had been silent all around, animals running past you in perceived terror. It was like a horror movie, for the First Spinjitzu Master's sake! At one point, you came across a figure, slumped against a tree and tending to seemingly grave wounds. Of course, your first thought was to help, but, unfortunately, luck hated you and that figure was The Overlord. You were really tempted to leave him there, but your morals overcame you. Sure, he was supposed to be pure evil, but Yin and Yang and all that! The least you could do was try, right?
It'd been a couple weeks since you'd smuggled the eleven foot tall oni into your home, and so far it was bearable. He threatened you sometimes, but he wasn't trying to kill you(for some reason) and at times even seemed amused with your antics. Turns out, he thought most things mortals did were stupid. But you weren't complaining, because he could kill you within a second and yet he didn't. You didn't know why, but he tolerated you.
You were sat on your sofa with the oni, focused on your phone as he bombarded you with questions about the random show on the TV. He eventually got bored of that, though, relegated to laying there in boredom. His tail flicked, hitting the fabric of the couch every now and again.
"You mortals are so boring." He hissed, eying you as if this were your fault. His tone was relatively quiet, seemingly pleased with the quiet.
