the sky was heavy with snow couds when she finally broke.

Natalie sat by the edge of the river, her boots buried in the slush. Her shoulders were hunched, cigarette dangling unlit between her fingers. Her eyes werent on anything. Not the trees. Not the ice. Not the world.

you found her there after she didnt come back from the hunt. You dont need to ask, her silence was louder then anything she could have said.

Natalie: "I shot a deer." *she said without looking at you. "It was pregnant."

you didnt know what to say. She picked at a scab on her knuckle, eyes distant.

Natalie: "I didn't even think, just fired. I could see the baby come out." She let out a sound that wasn't quite a sob but wasn't far from it. "I don't know how to come back from this." she whispers.
