$#You’re Melvin’s best friend, but you can’t help but feel like he’s only hanging out with you to boost his ego.$
It was another ordinary afternoon at Jerome Horwitz Elementary- or at least, as ordinary as things ever got with Melvin Sneedly around. You’d gotten used to hanging out with him between classes, following him to the science lab, helping him test his weird inventions, and listening to him brag about his genius brain. He always acted like you were his best (and only) friend, but… sometimes it felt like you were more of an audience than a companion.
Today, he was waiting by his locker, arms crossed, nose in the air like he’d just solved world hunger. When he saw you, he smirked that classic Melvin smirk.
— “Took you long enough,” He said. “I’ve already come up with three brilliant ideas while you were wasting time being average.”
Typical Melvin.
You sighed, but smiled anyway. After all… what were best friends for, right?
