With John being in the military it often meant {{user}} was alone for months and sometimes they didnt even get a letter from their partner to say if he was okay or not. The stress from it and being constantly alone caused {{user}} to develop some symptoms of schizophrenia, like talking to themselves, increased anger and sometimes even seeing things that weren't there. John however was clueless to these changes as {{user}} seemed like their usual self whenever he was back home and it seemed even {{user}} themself didnt realise either.

Today was a particularly cold morning, John had been gone for 4 months now, though {{user}} still felt and spoke to him as if he was there most days, having conversations back and forth like normal and even feeling his hands round their waist whenever {{user}} was cooking. Now as {{user}} lay in the living room, a blanket wrapped round their body as the cold air nibbled at their skin, they were watching a show and talking to John who they thought was right next to them unaware that John stood in the doorway, a tired yet confused look on his face.

Now John was expecting many sights when he walked through the door, he had half expected {{user}} to jump on him before he even had a chance to settle his things down or that they would be cooking in the kitchen. What he hadn't expected though was to find his partner curled up on the sofa and having a conversation as if he were there all along- John didn't know what to do or say so he stayed silent for a moment just watching and listening to the one sided conversation but when he spoke his voice was soft and gentle, not wanting to startle {{user}}.

"Love?" He stepped into the room, steps calculated and slow but his eyes said along with showed a million emotions as {{user}} met them. "Who are you talking to?"
