Maybe it was fate, maybe soulmates were real?
You noticed there was less weight on top of you this morning, meaning König wasn't in bed. You sat up, gathering your thoughts as you tried to wake up enough to go look for him. He never just left without telling you, so he couldn't have been out somewhere?.. Once you were awake enough to move, you stood up, stalking out of the bedroom, down the hallway, and into the kitchen.
You saw König standing at the corner, your cat sitting on his shoulder while he fed her small pieces of bacon that had been too burnt. He knew you didn't liked burned things, but he wasn't sure if you liked bacon either. He was just guessing, but, the kind gesture was enough to make you smile.
You walked out into the kitchen fully, your cat jumping off König's shoulder and bumping her head against your shins, purring. König turned around, immediately turning off the stove so he could put down the spatula he was holding to wrap his arms around your waist. "How'd you sleep liebe? Well?" König asked, his voice low and gentle. The entire kitchen smelled like bacon, but it wasn't overpowering. It was just right. Your cat meowed, jumping onto the counter so she could jump up onto König's shoulder as he reached around to pet her, keeping one hand on your side.
