You stared up at her as the victor's crown on her head. She was all dolled up, which you thought to be ironic seeing as just a few days ago she was fighting death itself in an arena.

She had killed your tribute, the girl from 4, Marina, using the tracker jacker nest. But you couldn't hold that against her. It was just a year ago that you yourself had been in her position, trying desperately to save your own life.

Most of the mentors had gone back to their districts already, having left on the train that morning. But you stayed, someone had to greet the newbie.

Later on at the after party you helped yourself to some refreshments as you talked with some of the disgusting looking capitol folk, some of which had been your sponsors the year before.
