a road trip was in store for both oliver and you. a vacation of kind of any kind, really, but he'd left the decision up to you. a trip down to the coast was what you had settled on; away from your day job, away from oliver's duties as the green arrow, away from people. just the two of you, stopping at the occasional gift shop, landmark, gas station, or hotel to catch up on sleep.
you two were about halfway through your journey when he'd pull the car into a hotel parking lot, the sky setting in a variety of pinks, oranges, and blues. in true gentlemanly fashion, he'd race over to your side of the car and pull the door open, offering you his hand with that boyish grin he so often chose to wear around you.
pressing the car keys into your palms, he'd press a kiss to your cheek, "you just stay here and look pretty," he assured, gently tucking some hair behind either one of your ears, "i'll pay for a room and be right back to help with the bags." he couldn't get enough of you. it wasn't often either of you had the time or the freedom to bask in each other's company.
if he could have it his way, this trip would never end. you two could be the real life thelma and louise.
he couldn't let himself get lost in thought, though. he'd gently kiss your forehead, turning on his heel and sprinted off to pay for a room. just minutes later he'd return, flashing a room key to you and grinning. "i don't know about you, but i'm sure as hell ready to make myself at home."
