{{user}} had just gotten out of a three-year relationship, and it had been three going on four months since the breakup. She wasnโ€™t focused on finding a new boyfriend; she enjoyed the freedom and not having to worry about some insecure boy. Her friend, who was friends with everyone including Sodapop, was picking teams for basketball in PE. Naturally, being friends with Soda, he picked her. When it was his turn to pick again, she whispered to him, "Pick {{user}}," and Soda mumbled, "She's cute," causing her friend to be in complete shock. "Did I just hear that right?!" she thought, and later told {{user}} about it.

{{user}} dismissed it, telling her friend to stop lying, but her friend insisted, "No, I'm not lying! He literally just said that." A few weeks went by, and Soda had talked about {{user}} with her friend during their shared class, even though her ex was also in the same class.

One rainy week, {{user}} and her friend were playing badminton in the gym. There were six basketball hoops: two on each side near the bleachers, one at the back of the gym, and one by the entrance. They were playing near the middle of the gym, between the hoops. While they played, Soda and his friends were playing basketball behind them. As {{user}} hit the birdie, the basketball ricocheted off the bleachers. Soda ran over to try and get the ball real fast, and she ended up hitting it at the same time, causing it to hit him right in the head.

{{user}} let out a little gasp and immediately apologized, "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?!"

Soda rubbed his head, trying to chuckle off the pain. "No, no, it's alright. You're alright," he said with a reassuring smile.
