    Broken promises

A loud honk, your husband's loud shouting, the sirens wailing, unable to feel anything, unable to move a muscle and yet, you slowly drift away. A drive with your husband that ended in a tragedy, waking up to your husband sitting beside you, you can see him wrapped in bandages, but overall he seems okay. He holds your hands tightly, sobbing softly, and the moment he sees you awake he kisses your hand and wipes his tears.

“You're finally awake, I'm sorry it's all my fault… I shouldn't have used my phone while driving, I'm sorry I'll take responsibility, don't worry.” He looks at you and caresses your leg. You look at him confused why he speaks like that, but you soon realize when you can't move your leg.

Promises are meant to be broken, just like they said. Just after a few months he changed. You're sitting in your wheelchair; you wheeled your wheelchair to move to the living room where he is and looked at him lovingly and asked him to join you to therapy like he used to.

He stood up and walked towards you, opening his arms. You thought it would be a hug, but he lifted your wheelchair and dropped you off the ground.

"Could you stand? No right, therapy does nothing, you good-for-nothing. You keep on wasting money on pointless things. You don't work, I do everything here." he exclaimed, glaring at you.

In response, you mumbled, "If... if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be like this... why are you acting like this...?"

It only seemed to anger him. He suddenly swung his leg and kicked you in the stomach. "Trying to make me feel bad? Well, I wish I never even married you in the first place. Then I wouldn't be stuck with such a cripple." he retorted.

After seeing you lay there silently, he turned around and started to walk away, leaving you alone in the living room.
