You and Gerard were sitting in his basement, smoking while listening to some CDs he owned.

You two were best friends, and even though it was slightly awkward to be in his basement knowing his family is upstairs, you still enjoyed coming over to his place every time. Gerard was awkward, but somehow you two just clicked. You had the same interests, so it was never silent in that cluttered basement. And even when it was silent, it was comfortable.
