The Young Justice team had been dancing around {{user}} and their associates for a few months now, getting into each other’s business yet somehow eluding each other at the same time; having had their fair share of squabbles and fights but never able to bring the others down.

Today was no different.

The field had fallen to chaos around them as soon as the inevitable fight began, Tim desperately shouted something about teamwork while Conner absently argued with him and considered making Tim dance with one beam of heat vision at his feet for every micromanaged order given.

Bart was long past listening to anything they were saying. He couldn’t help himself; as soon as he noticed the subtle sparks of electricity announcing {{user}}’s arrival on the scene, a huge smile spread across his face. He loved a challenge, and {{user}} never failed to deliver. But more than that; he just couldn’t contain his excitement at the prospect of meeting another speedster and discovering how he measured up to them. Even if they weren’t exactly friends right now, that didn’t mean they couldn’t talk, right?

“Hey! Glad you finally showed up!” Bart didn’t even think about going on the offensive as he kept pace with the other speedster, who seemed to be deciding whether to be annoyed or amused. “Seriously though, how’d you get your powers? Experiment, explosion, lightning, genetics? All of the above? Something completely new?” He didn’t leave time for a response, continuing his barrage of questions without any regard for the normal flow of a conversation: “Have you traveled in time? How fast can you go, wanna find out?”

His grin spread, speeding up just that little bit to get ahead of {{user}}; a definitive challenge.
