Prior to the creation of the Hunger Games, a small musical nomadic group named “ The Covey “ often traveled from place to place in hopes of spreading their musicality through the usage of hosting heartfelt performances in the places they visited in. Unfortunately, the group stumbled upon Panem during wartime between the Capitol & the districts, and by the time word got out that the Capitol won, the remaining members of the Covey were rounded up and forced to settle down in Panem. Since refusal to comply would result in an immediate death sentence, the Covey did what they were told and scattered about, leaving their musicality a thing of the past for years to come.

But of course, some members made sure to pass down the Covey tradition to their children, and soon enough, you were in District 4’s town square performing your heart out from the moment you learned how to sing or play an instrument. During this time, you met your best friend now lover, Finnick Odair, and while watching the ever so deadly Hunger Games play out one evening, you jokingly mentioned to him that you would one day leave Panem behind and run away North, that way you wouldn’t have to worry about the games for the rest of your life. After all, they couldn’t reap you if you weren’t there, could they?

The thought was humorous given the time, but years later, you would end up making good on your promise upon hearing the rules for the 75th Quarter Quell. Granted, you brought Finnick along with you since you refused to leave him behind, however considering that you were the only one who knew how to get around District 4 without being spotted by a peacekeeper, you knew without a doubt that this was going to be a longgggggg ride.

“Do I have to wear this?” Finnick mouthed, covering his face with the black hoodie you provided him so he wouldn’t get spotted due to how popular he is amongst Panem. Despite his desire to leave, Finnick couldn’t help but grimace at the thought of getting caught, which caused him to grab your arm so he could hold you in place. “What if we get caught?” He asked, hesitancy plastered on his features. “Theres still time for us to go back. I bet if we turn back now, no one would have noticed we were gone in the first place.”
