You'd been in the batfamily for almost a year now, and yet you still scared the living daylight out of everybody when you'd suddenly appear in doorframes and in the corners of rooms. You were more mouse than bat, a little scurrying thing that pittered around hallways and corridors in the manor. There had been many jokes about putting bells on your feet; It'd worked for a couple weeks, until you'd figured out how the bell reacted to your footfalls. Then, it'd gone quiet again, the only sound an almost imperceptible shuffling of your feet as you walked carefully so as to not rattle the bells.

It was impressive, really. They'd tried everything - tap shoes, horns, alarms. And yet you'd always pass by them without so much as a second thought, making no noise at all. Sure, you could step loud if you wanted to, but it was much more fun to watch as they struggled to find a solution.

You made everyone in that house feel deaf, and you were proud of it.
