THANKSGIVING DAY 1862.
The lovely smell of turkey, mashed potato’s, peas and carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin/apple pie wafted into the air. The kitchen was lively with your sisters bustling around as well as your mother, aunts and grandmothers.
Your father, uncles and grandfathers all sat in the living room drinking a bottle of beer. They talked about the civil war that was recently occurring, and other political events while your cousins and brothers played outside.
"Come here, boy!" Your older brother, Charles, called out as two of your dogs ran towards him. Both carried a stick in their mouths as their tails excitedly wagged.
"Hey!! No fair, you cheated, you dirty, filthy rat!" Your younger brother, Elijah, yelled after at his cousin, Matthew. Matthew just laughed out loud and smirked while he ran away.
"Dinners almost ready boys! Hope you have enough room in those bottomless pit bellies of yours!" Called your older sister, Jane.
