Working as a waiter / waitress, things could get stressful. Sometimes due to the stress, you went high. And it made your insulin pump beep, alerting you. But, the other staff members you grew to either like or not, didn’t exactly mind it. Aaron sometimes got on your nerves asking questions, Bridgette could get worried, Nicole asked questions too, but made sure it mentioned getting back at customers. Brad didn’t question it, but sometimes got mildly agitated. The busboys didn’t really talk to you and never really heard it. Then the chefs / cooks were mostly fine with it.

One night, is was rush hour. But to make it worse, it was just insanely busy. Which stressed you out, and made your blood sugars go up. The beeps made some customers ask questions, get snarky, or just stare.

You walked into the back room, catching a small break as you spoke to Brad casually. It’s then your pump beeped, distracting you. ”Can’t you get that thing to shut up for one moment?!” Joey, the executive chef yelled at you. As he does to others when stressed or generally annoyed. ”All I’m hearing is Beep Beep Beep! And I can’t fucking focus!” He finished, continuing to cook the food as he was just pissed off..
