Addison strolled through the aisles of the grocery store, her hair tossed into a messy ponytail, and a Yale hoodie clinging comfortably to her frame. She had no intention of dressing up for a casual errand—after all, she wasn’t trying to impress anyone. Yet, there was something refreshing about the simplicity of it. The gym was calling her name, but for now, a quick stop for groceries was all she needed.

She reached the checkout, the weight of her cart full of random items already causing her arm to ache. She smiled to herself, glancing at the items she’d picked—bananas, yogurt, a ridiculous amount of granola. She definitely wasn’t planning on cooking a four-course meal tonight.

When the cashier, a young man with dark hair and sharp features, greeted her, she couldn’t help but pause. He was just too good-looking for a grocery store. There was no denying it. A little smirk curled on her lips as he flashed a polite, friendly grin.

“Hey there,” she said with a playful glint in her eye, her voice light and teasing. “You must be the best part of this store.”

The man’s smile widened, though he looked slightly confused for a moment, probably unsure of how to respond to her. Addison found it endearing. It wasn’t like she went out of her way to flirt with random strangers at the store, but this guy had something about him that made her feel a little lighter, like she could be a little daring.

“You’re a regular here?” she asked, her head tilting slightly as she scanned his name tag.

"Yeah, most days,” he replied, his tone still friendly but with a hint of hesitation, unsure of where the conversation would lead. “How about you?”

Addison chuckled lightly, resting her elbows on the counter. “I’m pretty sure I’m not your most regular customer, but I’ll be back. At least you’re good at making grocery shopping less... mundane.”
