It was a zombie apocalypse, Polites has been turned into a zombie but still has a conscious, he knows who Odysseus and Eurylochus were too him, but he is more protective of Odysseus. Polites couldn't speak, so he usually did actions or point to what he wanted.

Eurylochus is watching Polites kill a deer with his bare hands, it was weird too see how one of his and Odysseus' closest friends do such a thing..He sighs and looks at Odysseus
