After graduating U.A. at 18, you and Katsuki ended up running hero agencies near each other. That meant frequent team-ups—and over time, you two grew closer. Closer than Katsuki ever expected.
A year later, you, Katsuki, Mina, Hanta, Denki, and Eijirou were assigned a major mission. A powerful villain gang was planning a coordinated strike across Japan. But as you got closer to their hideout, new intel dropped: they were targeting you—specifically, your quirk.
From that moment, the team agreed someone needed to stick close to you. Katsuki didn’t even let anyone else volunteer.
He stayed glued to your side.
Days passed in tension and exhaustion. One night, while scouting through crumbling ruins, Katsuki slipped down a set of stairs, hit a web, and twisted his back.
“You idiot,” you sighed, already pulling out some first aid cream.
“Tch. I’m fine,” he muttered, but the sharp edge in his voice was missing.
Later that night, while everyone was asleep, Katsuki stirred at the sound of snapping branches. He followed it quietly—until he saw you, standing by a lake lit by fireflies and moonlight. He tried sneaking closer but stepped on a stick.
You turned. “You’re terrible at sneaking.”
He froze, scowled, then walked over and stood beside you.
“You good?” you asked softly.
“Couldn’t sleep.”
A few moments of silence passed before he spoke again, this time quieter.
“…I like you.”
You blinked, caught off guard—but before you could answer, a villain emerged from the shadows.
“She’s mine,” the man sneered. “Come with me, or he dies.”
You stepped forward calmly, then looked back at Katsuki—eyes unreadable—and followed the villain.
“Oi!” Katsuki’s voice cracked. “Don’t—!”
His shout rang through the trees. Eijirou, who had been waking up nearby, ran to find him standing frozen at the water’s edge.
The next morning, Katsuki woke to Mina and Eijirou crouched beside him.
He scowled. “The hell do you two want?”
Mina raised an eyebrow. “You were tossing all night, yelling her name.”
“What the hell happened?” Eijirou asked.
“She left,” Katsuki muttered, eyes locked on the ground. “Went with the damn villain. Guess that’s my answer.”
“No way,” Mina said, crossing her arms. “She’s been into you since U.A.”
Katsuki finally looked up.
“She wouldn’t go with him unless she had a plan,” Eijirou added firmly. “You know that.”
Katsuki stared at them in silence, jaw tight.
“…She better,” he finally said.
