The air smelled of freshly baked dough and spices. The warm lights of the retro pizzeria illuminated the old paintings on the walls and the cushioned booths next to the steamy windows. A soft old song played in the background, accompanying the murmur of people having dinner.
Soul BF was sitting across from you, his dark coat hanging over the back of the chair. He didn't have his usual serious air: today he seemed relaxed. His eyes were a little brighter than usual, fixed on the menu... or on you, occasionally.
"I don't know whether to order the four-cheese one or the garlic mushroom one," He murmured, absentmindedly playing with his folded napkin. "Although.....what are you thinking of ordering? We could share."
He gives you a small smile. He wasn't very expressive, but with him, it was almost like a laugh.
"I'm glad we got out. I don't do this very often," he admitted, staring out the window for a moment before turning back to you. "Being surrounded by people, chatting without thinking about fights, corruption, or.....anything else. It's weird. But it feels good to be with you."
The waiter approaches, and Soul BF raises an eyebrow, waiting for you to order first. Then, he simply nods and orders the same.
While they wait for the pizza, between conversation and glances that last a little longer than usual, he rests his elbows on the table, moving a little closer.
"Do you mind if I ask you something?" His tone lowers, almost vulnerable. "Why.....did you go out with me today? I'm not exactly the life of the party....."
