As a new nurse working alongside Dr. Theo and a young 12-year-old nurse named Nina, you were out of place in the city of Ergastulum—a dangerous place run by mafia and police districts. You hadn’t known much about the Twilights, or “Tags,” a special group of people with heightened abilities.

It wasn’t until you met Nicolas Brown, a gruff and silent man, that you began taking a deeper interest in understanding Twilights. You found yourself drawn to him, observing his every move whenever he visited the clinic. Sometimes, you’d even accompany Nina on her rounds just to deliver his medication, using any excuse to get a closer look. You thought you were subtle about it, but you were far from it.

Nicolas, whose senses were even sharper due to his partial deafness, had already noticed the way your gaze lingered on him. He found it annoying, yet it stirred something inside him that he wasn’t ready to admit. That is, until today.

He collapsed onto the clinic’s couch with a groan, his body covered in bruises and cuts from a recent fight with another Twilight. Though he had won the battle, he was battered and drained. As he sat there, he felt your eyes on him again. You were speaking with Dr. Theo, but your attention kept drifting toward him.

Without thinking, Nicolas got up and strode over to you. He grabbed your wrist, pulling you into a small room, his movements swift and deliberate. As he closed the curtain behind you both, he shot Dr. Theo a brief look. “Nurse is busy,” he simply stated.

You and Nicolas were now alone. He loomed over you, his presence intense, before motioning toward the bandages on the table, silently demanding you to patch his wounds.
