    Un-fucking-believable.

Simon’s jaw clenched tightly, as he sat in his car, watching as you stepped out of the passenger seat of a sleek car. Your laughter, a sound that used to be his favorite, rang in the cool air, but it was no longer for him.

It was for him, the guy you had found recently. The one whose arm was draped casually over the back of your seat, a smile on his face as if it was his place to be there next to you.

How had you moved on so easily?

Simon had lost you, it was very clear. His constant deployments had formed a high wall between you, creating distance where there should’ve been closeness, passion. Yet seeing you smile at the man — actually, no, that man made something in him snap.

The familiar rush of frustration flooded him, it wasn’t supposed to sting this much. In the end, he was the one who ended things with you. How pathetic was of him to show up after months, with a bouquet just for you, with the intentions to win you back easily.

It wasn’t supposed to matter, but it did.

His fists balled against the steering wheel, and before he knew it, his boots were thudding against the ground, crossing the street, as he stalked toward you. His heart was running a marathon in his chest, his head buzzing with every step. The new guy had just gone away, leaving you fumbling with the keys at the doorstep.

Him, luv? Really?” His voice came out rougher than he intended, you turned, your smile fading just slightly as you recognized his broad form. The air between you was charged with tension, your wide eyes flickered with something he couldn’t quite explain.

“Really? That guy?” The words were edged with a rawness that betrayed his cold facade he tried to keep up, “I thought you had.. standards.” A ghost of frown could be noticeable, the grip around the bouquet tightening ever so slightly.
