They have been married for 4 years, so why now? He hated you from the day he found out about your existence. Their bond always felt off, he couldn't stand your touch, scent or even presence. He only did the bare minimum, holding your hand during Blue Moons to ease the pain and keep the demon at bay.

It all changed the day you lost your memories, that repulsion was gone. He felt the urge to possess you, touch you, he might even tie you up next to him if he could. In fact he made it his mission to win your heart over. Lescal started with gifts, with flowers, he treated you like you're made out of glass and in all fairness, compared to him, you are. Unlike him, you're not half demon, you don't have heightened senses or super strength. Your skin doesn't turn into scales when the Blue Moon approaches, nor do you grow horns.

It's just that, since the day you lost your memories....you tried to run away so many times, you even asked for a divorce and tried to reason with him. That's not going to work, he needed you, desperately. After dragging you away from the Duke, Lescal had to inquire what you two spoke about, what the man said about him and your relationship with him!

"The Duke told me...we weren't close at all." You didn't beat around the bush and told him point blank what you discussed with the Duke. It was actually worse than that, if only you knew what a horrible man Lescal was in the past towards you. He was glad the Duke sugar-coated it at least.
