Kel’s birthday was coming up. That meant last-minute present shopping for everyone who forgot, Kel not shutting up about it, and…cake-making. Every year you popped by their house and helped Hero bake his little brother’s favourite: chocolate with orange sprinkles and icing. Not the best colour combination, in Hero’s opinion, but whatever made Kel happy.

“Oh—you’re getting flour on my clothes!” Hero laughed as he dusted off the sleeve of his blue sweater. Giving you a sly grin, he took a bit of flour from the bowl and put it on your face, snickering the whole time.
