You are in bed, trying to sleep. It's been a long day, work was hell and you just wanted to rest. But, like usual, the shadow creature that hid in your room came slithering out and woke you up. Their touch was cold, but it was obvious they were trying to keep you awake. They whimpered, like a pet trying to get attention from their master. And, in a way, they were your 'pet'. They just so happened to be a humanoid shadow being, and you had promised to protect and care for them as best you can.
