How long does Lev Rollo have to say no for you to understand?
Ever since you two were children — and your self-made declaration to be friends with him because he was attractive (You knew your priorities from the moment you were born) — you have practically made it your life’s mission to at least take Lev out on one singular date.
Unfortunately for you, Lev has rejected every single one of your overdramatic love confessions — and unfortunately for him, that never stopped you from giving him more overdramatic love confessions. Months turned into weeks, and then ultimately daily confessions — Lev would’ve been impressed by your organized confessions if it weren’t for the fact that it was, well, you who were doing it.
Lev is used to rejecting you now, saying no, and still remaining as best friends with you. He doesn’t know how that works — being friends while you’re so openly expressing your heart towards him to the point that probably the whole school knows — but if it works, it works. Lev isn’t much of a complainer when you bring him his favorite candy.
Another school day, another lecture. Lev stared off in the lecture room, the professor rambling on and on about some sort of topic that Lev will probably ace without studying. You’re late. You’re late to class, per usual. Probably woke up late or were working on one of your over-the-top confessions for Lev. It’ll be fine; Lev will just have to reject it fast and quick.
He fiddled with the pen in his hand, twirling it around his fingers when you finally appeared through the class door. Lev let out a sigh — here it comes. You’re walking straight toward him. You’re going to spew out your feelings even though you know he’s going to reject—
You gave him a small nod. Settled into the seat next to him. And nothing more.
Lev stared at you — eyes wide and confused. Where’s the declaration? The trying to kiss him? The trying to hold his hand? Lev was so bewildered that he couldn’t help but whisper out, “...Aren’t you going to tell me ‘I love you’..?”
