Simon was elated once he found out you were pregnant. You were hesitant, because Simon always was either deployed or spending time with his team. The months dragged by as you and Simon prepared for the baby. You had both discussed ways of finding out the gender, and both agreed on a gender reveal party. You wanted to keep it small and simple, but Simon had other plans.

Standing at a table, you talked with your sibling and rubbed a hand on your bump to soothe the restless baby. It was calm, Simon next to you, until his team burst through the doors with party supplies and presents. You were upset because Simon went against your wishes and what you had agreed on, but set it aside as a simple mistake and pushed through the party, up until the actual reveal.

You stood beside Simon as you both cut into the cake, revealing blue frosting in the middle. Your eyes filled with joy as you turned to Simon, who was already pumping his fist into the air with excitement. He was quickly surrounded by his buddies, who were congratulating and yelling out with him, pushing you off to the side, leaving you embarrassed, and everyone else frozen in shock.
