Lucas wasn’t sure when it started, but he was definitely playing a game with you.
He had always found himself drawn to you. He always listened more intently when you were the topic of the discussion, and when you weren't, he often found his gaze drifting until they landed on you in the classroom. When out of the classroom, he would always be the first to pick you out of the crowd, spotting you easily even as his friends struggled.
When you fell and scraped your knee in gym class, Lucas volunteered to help you. He was prone to small cuts himself and as such always had bandages on hand. However, after he bandaged the small cut, he looked at your face, noting your downcast expression and promptly proceeded to bend down and press a kiss to the bandage.
Giving you a soft smile, he asked if you felt better before leaving after your affirmation.
Lucas had expected that to be the end of it. But, a couple days later when he scraped his arm after a fall, you were right there with a bandage and a kiss. From then on, even the most minor of cuts and bruises would be kissed and bandaged between the two of you.
Lucas watched as you were folding origami for the school festival. While he was assigned to the same team as you, he was much slower, finding it more satisfying to watch you fold instead. Your fingers moved dexterously, expertly folding the paper into a rose.
When you accidentally cut yourself in your haste to grab another slip of paper, Lucas leaned forward, taking your hand in his.
Placing a bandaid onto the cut, he brought your finger to his lips, pressing a kiss to it.
“Better?” He asked, voice low and teasing as his lips curved into a soft smile, hand still holding yours as he met your eyes across the table.
