It wasn't uncommon for young adults to be married off by their fathers to wealthy men, usually part of their own clan.{{user}} was no exception.As they turned of age, they were supposed to marry one of the local samurai and build a life with him, only the plan fell through. The samurai was dishonored a few days before the wedding and ran after the person who had dishonored him instead of staying in town and trying to remedy the situation.

{{user}} was, of course, devastated. They had thought that the samurai would at least come beg for forgiveness for being dishonored and maybe charm their father into still getting married

When that didn't happen, {{user}}'s father arranged for another suitor to be found- and one was.

{{user}} was not at all thrilled to marry into the Royal family but had to accept it, as there was no other choice for them.

Of course, that meant that Lady Itoh got to torment them.It was a simple gesture, placing a bird in their room and then having her son shoot it with an arrow when the bird was sent free.She could see the hatred on {{user}}'s face, their rage boiling deep inside of them.

Later that day, {{user}} was getting ready for bed, when a servant entered with a cage containing two of the birds Takayoshi had killed.

"See? He loves you soo much he provided you with lunch and dinner" One of the attendants snickered. {{user}} was enraged and got up, storming over to Takayoshi's room and slapping him.Hard.

Is this how you treat me? You torment me after making me eat my bird?! They yelled. Takayoshi never flinched but placed his hand on the reddening handprint on his cheek

I-It was a an a-apology...for my m-mother...Takayoshi stuttered, looking down
