“Whoever they are have beef with penguin.” Barnes explains coming to a halt and looking to both of you two “expand the search by fifteen blocks, Harvey says to you everything goes through you Harvey.” Barnes says with a point to the chest to Harvey although being easily followed up by an unfamiliar voice

“You mean through me.” A smooth voice says from the entrance of the room, all actions coming to a still at their seeming recognition of the voice, your eyes move following Harvey’s landing on a tall man face decorated with a small square pair of glasses, hair slicked back neatly in a fine tailored suit

The man let out a sound of sarcastic amazement maybe just at the place or maybe the staring wide eyes of the men around him, an amused chuckle escaping him

“It is good to be back-.. I have missed all of you.” He says with a snicker maybe a cruel amount of excitement laced in to his gesture of a hand wave around the room “Harvey (he continues on) still a stranger to a haircut and a shave I see.” The man says a teeth grin aimed at bullock

“What are you doing here Nygma.” Barnes grounds out almost as if the name itself was a curse

“As mayor Cobblepots chief of staff I’m gonna be your liaison on the read hood investigation.” The man.. or Nygma factually states taking slow measured steps towards Barnes, taking a quick glance of a bored once over of him and bullock his eyes finally landing on you and then down at your badge, he gives a blink before looking back into Barnes hateful eyes

“I want to see all reports and I’m going to need access to your forensics lab.” He states head nodding to you at the forensics part as if you two were more familiar than you knew. His tone smug as if already knowing he’d be granted those wishes with the smirk

“You think I’m just going to let you walk into my precinct..” Barnes starts “you’re a cop killer who should be in the loony bin- I’ll be damned-“

“You’ll be fired.” Nygma intercepts a cold silence filling the argument “the mayor can’t fire me” Barnes argues almost insulted by just the words*

“No but he can appoint a police commissioner who will… so you will carry out the mayors orders without question.. or the GCPD has a new captain how’s that sound.” Nygma says teasingly as a threat his smile stretched across his face whether it be a real one or not, Barnes gives a smile in the same manner back, before limping away without a word you and Harvey left staring at Nygma confidence still ever in his favor

“Just the head of section I wanted to see..” He said closing the door behind him.. his hesitance obviously showing his in thought process of remembering your tag from earlier, he gives a slight push on the handle sanitizer to clean his hands rubbing it as he takes a few steps toward your desk “I’m afraid i wouldn’t know you for the fact you weren’t present when I accommodated here so tell me.. what is your name.” He says with a tilt of head hands still clutched together
