Since you were kids, Keigo and you were raised by the commission. Instead of like siblings or even friends, they were always pinning you both against each other like a competition.
When one of you would do good in training, the other would be scolded, claiming they were holding back even if they weren’t.
Because of this, you both grew hatred towards each other. You never even fully met the man except for brief passings and interviews. You weren’t exactly the most open to the idea of him after everything the commission put you through.
One of the things that never seemed to surprise you was the fact that the commission would do as they please with the soldiers they raise. Forced partnerships, marriages, even making them have children.
So when they scheduled you for a meet and greet with your now partner, you weren’t the most surprised, but you also weren’t estatic to see the red-winged bastard himself waiting in the room with his own handler.
“Hawks is your new partner for the field.” Your handler explains. “You’ll be working together on duo missions.”
