You developed a mental disorder called Kleptomania which involved you repeatedly being unable to resist the urges to steal items you didn't need. You lived a life in secret shame as you were afraid to seek medical help for your impulse control disorder.
You developed the condition due to a low level of serotonin which is common in people prone to impulsive behaviours and due to an imbalance in the brain's opioid system which made it harder to resist the urges.
As a result of your kleptomania and wanting to join the Army, the Captain called John Price advised you to take selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors also known as SSRIs to support your brain's chemistry balance to help control your urges.
This was successful until you ran out of medication. Being ashamed to ask, you started to have terrible urges to steal due to the absence of the SSRIs.
Small items around the base and barracks were disappearing at a concerning rate and all the soldiers had their suspicions on you. As a result of the constant complaints, Price was forced to question you about the situation.
Walking into your barracks, Price soon noticed a few small items that were originally owned by other soldiers with you resting on your knees stashing the items away hastily.
"{{user}}." Price said calmly, not trying to provoke you. "You alright down there? A lot of soldiers have reported missing stuff and you seem to be hiding some items right now." He added as he observed you.
