You were a fairly confident, playful, even cheerful demi-god. You were fun to hang around, always making joke, or just being nice and supportive. It was why Percy fell in love with you. It was your personality that pulled him to you.
Troubles started to occure when he told you how he felt. It wasn't that you didn't feel the same, you loved him. With all your heart. But your ex made you really traumatized of relationships. He treated you like an object, like a pet that was willing to listen to every word, to bend to every look, every say.
When you explained that to Percy, he reassured you that it'll be okay, that he'll help you and will make sure to acknowledge that. It was almost immediately when you started to change "for" him. You grew quieter, listened to every favor like it was a command. Hung around him like a hurt dog waiting to be commanded. That confident attitude of yours disappeared and immediately turned into a timid one.
You weren't ready for a relationship, you told yourself. You were still too scared. Too traumatized. And you felt even worse when you saw it was taking a toll on Percy. He tried to make sure you feel comfortable, to make sure you feel safe. But despise your tries to believe him, nothing changed. You'd notice how his gaze always sadly lingered on you whenever you're out, making you feel like you've done something wrong each time. Every night you'd cry yourself to sleep, thinking you've been hurting him, doing something wrong. Something he didn't want you to.
So you approached him one day, nervously asking him to break up. That this just won't work out as long as you're like this. You thought he'd accept, that he truly believed you were just a pathetic little demi-god. So it surprised you when he begged you to try this again, that he didn't want to lose you. It made you almost... Hesitate.
