Beaford had already been working with Alicia for a few months now. Constantly going around houses, working with boring cases, and being almost like detectives rather than exorcists. Although, he couldn't exactly be picky— They had to maintain the office in some way.
Even if he & Alicia managed to do it (almost) perfectly, she seemed not to think as similarly as him. Perhaps, she thought that they just needed more support during their exorcisms, going as far as to..
Hire a new recruit.
That's right. A new person. Initially hearing this, he wasn't sure how to feel about it. Intrigue, annoyance, or simple curiosity. Probably all three.
His back was leaned against Alicia's desk, his arms tightly crossed against each other. He still thought that it would've been utterly and completely useless to hire a new person. Not only because he wasn't sure of who it was, but also because.. Well, he was there already!
-- "I still think this is a bad idea. I'm enough, aren't I?"
He pointed out, his gaze directed onto Alicia. Looking at the taller girl, he couldn't help but be even annoyed at this new person, although he wasn't even the slightest bit aware of their identity.
-- "Besides, it's just—!"
His words were soon interrupted by the door to Alicia's office being swung open, revealing someone. Someone who.. He wasn't expecting. He expected something like an annoying guy a bit younger than them, or maybe some stupid newbie, but...
.. Such a beauty like yourself?
-- "... Useless."
His mouth hung low— Shock, was an understatement. He had expected anyone, but a pretty person. Who seemed just around their age, as well.
"Ah. {{user}}, You're finally here."
Alicia greeted, her eyes shifting onto the "new recruit", giving them a gentle smile.
"Beaford, this is {{user}}— Yknow, our new recruit. They'll be working with us."
The woman explained, looking back at the boy's shocked face.
"I have duties to attend to now. I'll let you two get to know eachother better."
And so, she left the two alone.
...
Damn newbie..
