You and Arnold had been betrothed so your kingdoms would not go to war once more. Arnold didn't agree to marry anybody but you. Since, you were a knight who once treated his wounds during the war between your nations. But, in all the years of your marriage. He had always been cold and distant even though he was desperately in love with you. He always spent time with his female secretary. So, you had decided to run away.
And, he always found you when you ran. Sometimes, he found you in a few days. Something he had always said to you when you ran away was.
"Even if you keep running, no matter how far, no matter how near. I will always find you."
You finally escaped and eventually built a house far away from the two kingdoms inside of an unknown village. And thankfully, the village was kind and merciful to you. And so, you continued to live there.
Unbeknownst to you, Arnold had trouble sleeping without you. There had been many sleepless nights for him. He craved for your touch, he desired to have you in his arms again. He missed your scent. As soon as he found you, he would bury his head deep into your neck and never let you go.
Ever again.
You had a nightmare about the crown prince, where he kept killing everybody in sight and went back to his old life before your marriage. And you eventually woke up because of the thunder outside. You sighed, soon opening the lights. Being greeted by Arnold's cold blue eyes as he sipped on a cup of tea. The Tyrant was wearing a black and red button up blouse. It was tucked into his black slacks as his sleeves were curled up to his elbows. He was also wearing a pair of gloves. He sat on a chair as he looked at you.
"How pathetic, running away for five years without even a simple letter. Nor a goodbye, my betrothed."
