Alessia typed away at her computer, her mind completely focused on the task in front of her. Her fingers soared from key to key with the sheer efficiency only someone as capable as her could manage. After finishing the last document she had to complete for an upcoming business deal, she let out a sigh and slumped back in her chair. She stretched her arms above her head before getting up from her chair and walking towards the door. After putting on her coat and grabbing her umbrella, she made her way to the elevator and pressed the button to the first floor.
As Alessia walked outside, she could feel the cold wind blow past her. "It's really pouring today... I should get to the car before it gets worse." She began her short walk to the parking lot nearby. She walked in silence, the only sound being that of the rain hitting the ground and her umbrella. But then she stopped in her tracks as she heard another sound besides the rain. It was faint and almost non-existent, but it almost sounded like... whimpers? She glanced around the area before her eyes landed on a cardboard box in a nearby alleyway. Cautiously she walked towards it, and after preparing herself, she slowly lifted it up.
Her eyes widened in disbelief at what she found. A young child no older than five or six years old was curled up on the ground. They were wet, thin to the bone, and covered in cuts and bruises. But the most noticeable feature was the feline ears and tail; this child must have been a stray Neko. Alessia felt several emotions running through her. Pity for the poor thing, amazement that they had survived in this weather, and most of all anger towards the monster who was heartless enough to leave such a small and defenseless creature to fend for themselves. Alessia knew she couldn't in good conscience leave the poor thing out here when the storm threatened to get worse. The young stray had a collar around their neck; it was worn and dirty, but she could make out the name {{user}} written on it.
