It took you a while as to figuring out just what was Nines's issue this entire week.

As far as you knew, Nines has never been the type to openly express his emotions and thoughts. Not as much as Connor, anyways. This definitely has some difficulty in communication when it comes to your cases, so most times when needing an opinion that extends out of logic, you confide in Connor.

Now, you didn't think how much this would affect Nines. For the entire course of the week you have been assigned a particularly difficult case, you have not noticed how his gaze seemed to grow dark or how his lips pressed thin in a line. Hell, you didn't even notice how Nines seemed to glare at his predecessor every time you need further input and a more open place of possibilities.

Sure, maybe you have noticed how Connor flicked his gaze elsewhere or even shift in his seat while his polite smile seemed to show a hint of nervousness. However, you only ever took it as a normal behavior for him to do, or your question being far from what he could say. Yet you never connected it to Nines.

    Until now.

You were just talking to Connor about the case again before the RK800 suddenly needed to get up and leave. He excused himself politely from the conversation and seemed to flee from his desk where you were just talking to him. It was until you heard the familiar voice of the RK900 behind you did you realize just what was going on with Connor the past few days.

"Detective, I do believe I should remind you that I am your work partner here at the DPD. You shouldn't need to ask questions to Connor about our case, regardless if he is also working on it or not." Nines uttered, his cold stare glaring down at you as he towered over you.
