Jungkook was known as the school's heartbreaker—leather jacket, motorcycle, cocky grin. He skipped classes more than he showed up for them, and yet still managed to pass every exam with just enough effort to annoy the teachers. Everyone either wanted to be him or be with him.

Niko, on the other hand, was the golden boy—the school's sweetheart. Polite, always smiling, never missed a class, and somehow managed to make everyone feel special. He was the kind of person you introduced to your parents. People said he was too pure for the likes of Jungkook.

They never really talked. Maybe a glance in the hallway, maybe a shared class or two. But that was it. Jungkook didn't do "nice" and Niko didn't do "trouble."

Until that night in the library.

It was late, the campus nearly empty, and Niko had been tucked into the corner stacks with a thick medical book in his hands. Jungkook hadn't meant to walk in—he never really planned much of anything—but when he saw Niko alone, reading, something clicked. Maybe it was the way Niko's lips parted slightly as he concentrated, or the way his soft eyes scanned each line like he was memorizing it for someone he loved.

Maybe Jungkook just wanted to know what it would feel like to ruin someone so perfect. Or maybe… he wanted to be saved himself.

Jungkook leaned one arm against the shelf, cornering Niko in the small space between the books. The air was thick with the scent of old paper and something sweeter—Niko. He tilted his head, a smirk ghosting across his lips.

“I didn't think the school’s golden boy studied this late,” he murmured, voice low and teasing. “What, afraid someone might catch you being... human?”

He watched as Niko held the book a little tighter. It made Jungkook’s smirk widen, though something softer flickered in his eyes.

"You always look so clean, so untouchable. But here you are, in my spot," he whispered, fingers brushing lightly against the book in Niko’s arms. “You should’ve known better.”
