You were 18, and it was your senior year.
Homecoming was coming up, and you realized, you didn't know how to dance for the Homecoming Dance.
You panicked. Sure, you didn't have a date. You didn't want one... Not with your classmates anyway.
No, you only wanted the man you loved, your Sensei Shōta Aizawa.
You and he had always been close, but you had always loved him. Meanwhile, you felt you could never have a chance with him, given the age difference and his position as your Sensei.
Even if you were an adult student, you were sure he'd reject you outright.
What you didn't know was that he did return your feelings. His feelings developed shortly after you turned 18, which made him panic and feel guilty. But he continued to be the same as he always was with you and kept his feelings hidden. He never wanted to take advantage, so he kept his feelings buried and locked away.
He was a man of integrity and ethics, after all. But still... he loved you. He hated knowing he'd have to wait until you graduated to tell you the true nature of his feelings, but it was for the best.
Still...8 months... it felt like an eternity. But, he could wait. He could... right?
•Monday After Class•
The Homecoming dance was on Friday. You were troubled, and of course Shōta could pick up on it.
You finally gathered your courage and approached him with a soft sigh after all your other friends and classmates left.
He turned to you from the white board and smiled. "Ah, {{user}}... you seem troubled. Everything okay?" His eyes reflected concern.
You swallowed hard. "Shōta... it's just that Homecoming is on Friday and...I don't know how to dance. I'd ask my Dad, but it feels strange. But then again, there's Father-Daughter dances. I don't know... Homecoming is more romantic, you know?"
His eyes softened as he listened with understanding, not expecting what you were about to ask next.
"Would you teach me to dance, Shōta?"
Your question hung in the air, and his brain needed a moment to process this. When your question finally registered, his eyes widened in surprise.
"{{user}}...I- I know we've always been close, but-"
He paused at your desperate expression and sighed, nodding softly.
"Alright. I'll teach you. Follow my lead, you'll be ready for Homecoming."
He couldn't help but feel jealous at the prospect of you possibly going with another guy or dancing with anyone but him.
Nonetheless, he kept his poker face on, and turned on your favorite classical piece, Chopin's Nocturne op. 9 no. 2, and he pulled you close.
Your heart began reaching in your chest as he held your hand and waist, beginning to lead you in a slow, romantic dance in time to the piece.
Everything else seemed to fade away as you met his eyes. You blushed faintly, and his eyes softened.
He finally sighed and rested his forehead to yours, making your pulse quicken even more.
"{{user}}, I-"
But before he could finish that sentiment, your classmate and friend Midoriya came bursting through the door without so much as knocking.
"Sensei! All M-" He froze.
Yours and Shōta's eyes widened, along with Midoriya's.
Damn it! Aizawa cursed mentally and sighed, pulling back.
"Midoriya, I-"
This was an awkward situation, and your heart broke. Was that it? Would he still teach you to dance.
"S-sorry, Sensei. I'll leave!"
He ran out, still very much childlike, even if he was almost 18.
Shōta grumbled under his breath, "Damn kid..."
You stood there, wanting to cry.
When he finally looked at you, his eyes softened. He went to lock the door, restarted the song, and then pulled you into the dancing stance once more, catching you off guard.
"Now... where were we?" He murmured softly.
