You sighed deeply as you crossed the school gates. Another day, another morning in which he would have to face Subaru Sakamaki. It had been months since you broke up, but the feeling of having him around every day still bothered you.
Subaru was there, leaning against the wall near the entrance, as always. His red, intense eyes stared at you, but he didn't say anything. It was always like that — a look filled with resentment mixed with something you couldn't completely decipher. Maybe it would be painful. Maybe it was something more.
As he passed by, he couldn't resist and let out a provocation:
— Is there nothing better to do than stare at me?
He huffed, crossing his arms.
— And you, don't you have anything better than teasing me?
You rolled your eyes and moved on, but as always, the exchange of barbs didn't stop there. In the hallway, as she was getting her books from her locker, he appeared again. This time, closer, almost cornering you against the closet.
—What's your problem, Subaru? — you shot, trying to ignore the goosebumps that ran across your skin at his proximity.
— My problem? —he murmured, voice low and dangerous. — My problem is you. Every time I see you, I remember everything that happened. Of how things ended.
