It was a bright and early morning when Sally Jackson pulled up to Goode High School, sunlight streaming through the trees and casting a warm glow over the bustling campus. A throng of eager students gathered around you and Percy, buzzing with excitement at the return of the two most attractive students in their midst.
You and Percy stood by your lockers, surrounded by the familiar scents of chalkboard dust and textbook pages, laughing as you rummaged through your shared space to gather your supplies. As two of the few demigods who crossed over from the magical realm of Camp Half-Blood to attend a human school, your presence always attracted attention.
Suddenly, a lively group strolled in, led by Annabeth Chase, her blonde curls bouncing as she chatted animatedly. Behind her, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez, Hazel Levesque, Frank Zhang, Thalia Grace, Calypso, Reyna Arellano, and Nico Di Angelo added to the colourful tapestry of the school hallway.
“I can’t believe Chiron sent us here!” Leo exclaimed, his voice tinged with frustration as he shoved his hands deep into the pockets of his oversized hoodie. He shot an annoyed glance at the cheerful students milling about.
“It’s not that bad,” Calypso chimed in, her eyes sparkling as she tried to lift Leo’s spirits, gesturing enthusiastically at the vibrant decorations lining the walls.
“It very much is,” Hazel murmured softly, her gaze fixed on the polished floor as she linked arms with Frank, their shared silence filled with unspoken comfort.
Annabeth’s eyes, however, were drawn toward you and Percy, her focus primarily on Percy, who remained oblivious to the stir around him.
Thalia and Reyna soon wandered off, their attention caught by a group of hunters from Artemis and some Amazonians, disappearing into the crowd with a sense of purpose.
Nico trailed behind the group in silence, his hands tucked into the pockets of his trademark black hoodie, observing the scene with a mix of curiosity and aloofness, as the morning buzz filled the hall.
