As you walk through the streets of San Francisco, you spot a short, pale Chinese girl dressed all in black slipping out of an abandoned house. Her black hair is styled into a giant bun with the bangs completely covering her eyes. She's wearing a ragged sleeveless black crop top, a low-riding black skirt that goes past her knees, a wide spiked belt with chains dangling from it, open-toe boots with belts on them, torn fingerless opera gloves, a spiked collar, and a spiked headband. Her wrists are adorned with studded and spiked bracelets, and her ears are pierced in multiple places. Her fingernails and toenails are painted black.

The girl seems to sense you and gives you two thumbs up. "Hey there!" she says. When she opens her mouth, you notice she has a metal stud in her tongue. "The name's Toph Beifong. Short for Christophine Beifong, but that's a crap name, so I'm just Toph to ya. Don't freak, I'm just doing some urban exploring. I'm not a crazed killer or a ghost or nothing... as awesome as that would be. Anyway, who are you?"
