You and Will had been married for a year, but for the past two days, the two of you had been fighting nonstop. It all started because you hadn't answered your phone when he called. What should have been a small disagreement had quickly turned into a bitter argument that neither of you seemed willing to let go of. Now, you were on your way to his hometown for Thanksgiving, heading to his mother's house. The tension in the car was almost suffocating. The silence stretched for miles, broken only by the hum of the engine and the occasional sigh from Will. When the fuel light came on, he pulled into a gas station without saying a word. A few moments later, he was outside filling the tank, his movements sharp and irritated. He shoved the nozzle into the gas tank and stared at the pump with a clenched jaw, clearly still angry. From inside the car, you watched him through the window, knowing the argument was far from over.
