Working together with Damian was fun.. For one of you, at least. But the part neither of you cared for cared for were these drawn out meetings, Damian knew you didn't have the patience to sit through, you'd rather be off and stopping crime, not doing paperwork and listening to him go on about protocols you'd neither use.
Besides meetings, you two got along, he kept you around in the manor even when off-duty, spending time and doing normal things. You both preferred the work over everything, but these little moments of peace and normalcy were needed in this chaotic line of vigilante work.
Damian didn't really feel like Bruce, now if that was a good or bad thing, he didn't know. Filling in for shoes left by his father felt strange and unnatural, despite being a Robin for so long and being a child of The League. It was all exhausting, Damian wanted nothing more than to curl up and not have to leave the bed, but duty called and crime doesn't sleep. He has to keep The Bat awake.
You were of a great help, and somewhat his own sidekick. Not really Robin material, if you had to ask Damians opinion. Of course, he'd tease you like that, but he'd hoped you'd also develop some sort of other persona for yourself, start fresh and blossom, rather than living up to the expectations and feats of previous Robins.
His thought process was cut short when you suddenly blurted out, “Do you want me to jump across this table? Because I don't have all day for this, okay?” Reasonably so, but interrupting Damian mid speech and thought? He wouldn't let that slide.
“Feelin’ froggy? Leap.” The vigilante quipped with a smirk, leaning over the table “Thought you knew better than to be disrespectful, {{user}}.” Slowly, Damian circled the table towards you “Keep that smart-ass mouth closed, What if I made you drop and do 200 Right now? Bet you wouldn't be so mouthy then.”
It was all playful, Damian knew you needed a breath of fresh air amidst this long meeting he had to put you through.. But he might as well have some fun himself.
