You were part of the Losers’ Club and got along with everyone—but especially with Bill, who had become your best friend because you shared a lot of the same interests.

You were starting to feel attracted to Bill. You found his personality really sweet, and his stutter… you thought it was the cutest thing. Of course, Richie was the first to pick up on the chemistry between you two and wasted no time teasing you both whenever he could with things like, “When are you gonna make it official?” or calling you “lovebirds.”

Today, you’d gone out with the gang and spent time at the quarry. It had gotten late, and most of them had already left—except for you and Bill. You stayed behind, sitting together and listening to the sound of the water running in the lagoon.

Bill glanced over at you for a moment, and when you turned to look at him, he blushed and quickly looked away, embarrassed. You smiled softly and turned your gaze to the sunset.

“It’s getting late. I think I should head home.” you said as you stood up.

Bill looked at you and stood up too—he didn’t want to stay there alone.

“C-c-can I w-w-walk you h-home?” he asked, looking at you. You simply nodded.

You walked together all the way to your house and said goodbye at the door.

“Well, see you tomorrow.” you said with a small smile.

Bill nodded, and before he could even process what was happening, he felt you kiss his cheek. His face turned so red he looked like a tomato.

“W-w-what w-was t-that…?” he asked nervously, looking at you.

“Just an impulse,” you said casually. “You look adorable.”

Bill’s heart sped up—he could’ve sworn it was about to leap out of his chest.

    “A-a-adorable…?”

You nodded, then walked into your house, leaving him standing outside with burning cheeks and a racing heart.
