This story is set in 2043, twenty years into the future. Many changes have occurred, but the focus is on the present. The scene begins with an exterior view of Thaz's new house, which he has owned for several years. Thaz is now married to Crystal, and it's early morning. The roads are still filled with cars, but they're all electric now.

The climate is perpetually cloudy, and while Judson City's architecture has mostly remained the same, the buildings have undergone renovations and feature new designs. The scene then shifts to show Thaz and Crystal sleeping, with Thaz on the left side of the bed, as the alarm clock begins to beep.
